Born in Zimbabwe in 1986, Rory was exposed to wildlife from a very young age. His holidays were spent exploring Hwange and Mana Pools national parks, as well as the mighty Zambezi River where his love for wildlife and Africa was ignited and grew. The art of sculpture runs in his veins, with his grandmother and grandfather both taking it up as a profession, but his passion and flare for sculpture grew much later in life. He eventually settled with his wife and children in Tanzania, East Africa. There, his management role on a wildlife estate offered the ideal environment and subject matter to springboard his journey into the art.
Today, he is co-founder and director of Safari Bronze Art Ltd based in Nairobi, Kenya, where he now resides with his family. His portfolio continues to grow, and the vast, raw African terrain of Kenya continues to inspire and provoke his deep sense of belonging and love for his craft. The nature of his style has taken its own unique form, with his fixation on detail and his desire to convey the interdependence between flora and fauna in the African bush becoming so evident in his work.
